I Heart Faces ...in the Pink! Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This is Breast Cancer Awareness Week at I Heart Faces and, in honor of women everywhere, the theme of the photo contest is PINK! This is a picture of my youngest daughter, Kate. She is 3 years old and is adopted from Guatemala. If there is a down side to adoption , I would say it is the unknown medical history of your child. I don't know how many of her biological relatives have been touched by this disease. Maybe none. Or... it might run rampant through her ancestry. I pray not. Mostly, I pray that breast cancer can become so predictable and treatable that when my little girl grows up, she need only concern herself with the next time she can watch her daughter dance on the beach in her pink tu-tu.

I Heart Faces ...in the Orchards

This week's theme for the photo contest is "in the orchards" in honor of apple picking season . However, if you cannot make it to an orchard,  featuring an orchard fruit will do. How about an orchard fruit smothered in every kind of chocolate and candy topping??? I am afraid that "Miss Debbie's Specialty Apples" is as close to an orchard as I am going to get this fall.
