I Heart Faces....Soft and Sweet.....

This week's theme is "soft and sweet". This photo came to my mind. I wonder how her mom and dad keep from kissing that face every minute of the day! For other soft and sweet captures, check out I Heart Faces by clicking on the icon.

I Heart Faces....Red!

This week's challenge is Red in honor of Valentine's Day and women's cardiovascular health. Not many women realize that heart disease is the #1 killer of women in this country. I know this because my Mom went back to school and earned her PhD in Biochemical Nutrition, her research project centering around atherosclerosis and heart health. Now she makes her way around the state of North Carolina battling this epidemic by teaching people how to eat and live "heart healthy". Go Mom! For more RED photos, check out I Heart Faces!

I Heart Faces...Scenic Black and White

What an amazing gift we Americans have been given. A few hundred years ago God stirred the hearts of men and women to leave house and home and set out across the ocean for lands unknown. They risked life and limb for freedom and opportunity and the ability to worship God without persecution. This was the sight I awoke to this week in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. It was majestic!  It was beautiful!  And I couldn't help but think that our founding forefathers , by the grace of God,  fought to establish this beautiful land as the country we all know and love...the greatest country in the world ....a gift to us all.
